Thanks for visiting our Portfolio.

We are a group of 3 painters: Theo Sykes, Gary Simmonds and Vicky Putler. Theo and Vicky run a printed textile company called Thorody and Gary is Course Leader and Senior Lecturer, BA (Hons) Creative Art Practice, Sheffield Hallam University.

We share a common interest in pattern, repetition and geometrical visual playfulness. The interplay between art and decoration takes surface patterns into 3 dimensions changing their form and adding elements of chance to the mix. Resolutely analogue in our approach, we embrace formalism, avant-garde jazz and other abstract notions.

News:

We will be taking part in the Artist Fleamarket at the Artist Village, Brockley on Saturday 31 May at 12:00 until Sunday 1 June at 17:00. We will be presenting a selection of paintings and works on paper in an ad hoc way, stacking, leaning and pinning. The works themselves will form the supporting display structure. This will be the first time we have exhibited together and we intend to use the space as an opportunity to start a light-hearted conversation between our works with a view to further projects.
